Prayer for Saving Water

We join with the earth and with each other
To restore the water
To refresh the air

To save marine plants and animal
To save the land from drought

Malik Gita..

Born in Eersterust South Africa, Malik is a talented insightful musician and lyricist. Apart from appearances in 10 states across the U.S, his international experiences include: Pretoria, Cape Town South Africa, Cairo Egypt, Australia, Korea, Iwo Jima, Dubai, Frankfurt Germany, with performances in Okinawa, Manila ,Tokyo, Kingston Jamaica among others.

The Founding Father and C.E.O of N.B.L Entertainment has proven through serious work ethic he has composed over 100 original songs, directed and produced music videos and won praise for his writing. In addition to his body of music, Malik has furnished two books of poetry. Raised in Sacramento California Malik joined the Marine Corps in November 2002 (Post 9/11). "Something I had to do, It was my calling" Since then Malik served the Diplomatic Community and Foreign Service volunteering in the local communities as a motivational speaker and mentor.

Malik’s experience as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps has made him a well-disciplined, determined individual who is passionate about his craft.

ART Part 2_ SWOON GRAFITTI ARTIST

SWOON is a street artist from New York City who specializes in life-size wheatpaste prints and paper cutouts of figures. Swoon, real name Caledonia “Callie” Dance Curry, studied painting at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and started doing street art around 1999. Swoon is also a member of the Justseeds Artist Cooperative.


Swoon's worlds are often populated by realistically rendered cut-out street people, often her friends and family. Riding bikes, talking on a stoop, going grocery shopping - these people traverse a cityscape of her own unique invention. Bridges, fire escapes, water towers and street signs create crisscrossing shadows and spaces through which her figures move. Inspired by both art historical and folk sources, ranging from German Expressionist wood block prints to Indonesian shadow puppets, Swoon uses cut paper to play with positive and negative space in a conceptually driven exploration of the experience of the streets.

Todays section on art is about body piercing which is a form of body modification,  the practice of puncturing or cutting a part of the human body, creating an opening in which jewellery may be worn. The word piercing can refer to the act or practice of body piercing, or to an opening in the body created by this act or practice. While the history of body piercing is obscured by a lack of scholarly reference and popular misinformation, ample evidence exists to document that it has been practiced in various forms by both sexes since ancient times throughout the world.

Id like to introduce a major figure in the tattoo/piercing biz.. My bosslady Retha Coetzee.. She rocks pink hair and tattoos so colourful your bape sneakers wouldnt match up.. Shes a crack head for cup cakes, Iron fist heels and voodoo doll art and happens to be co-owner of Voodoo Ink Tattoos. Her resume is disgusting, taking home numerous awards for her tattoos.. Hands down, the la madrina of piercing..
